Production and testing of automation cabinets for the air conditioning of an offshore wind platform
The BorWin3 project - an offshore wind farm - in the North Sea with a transmission capacity of up to 900 megawatts will be able to supply almost one million German households with wind energy from 2019. A consortium between Siemens AG and Petrofac International from the United Arab Emirates is carrying out the complete construction of a so-called HVDC (high voltage direct current transmission technology) platform. The energy from offshore wind turbines will then be transmitted to the mainland with virtually no losses. There, the energy is fed into the supply grid in an alternating current direction.Realisation
For the air conditioning of the platform, Heitec received an order from Siemens for the engineering and production of the control cabinets, as well as for the power automation of the platform.
Heitec created the documentation completely in E-Plan P8 and manufactured more than 26 switchgear panels for the air conditioning system.
Heitec also received an order from Petrofac International for the light distribution on the platform and a connection box for an emergency diesel generator.
