Precise traceability through SAP integration

Carl Schlenk AG is a leading international manufacturer of metal powders, effect pigments and metal foils. With a new building, Schlenk also wanted to reorganise its logistics processes in production with the aim of gaining an overview of material consumption and material receipts in real time.

Realisation

HEITEC's IT subsidiary HEISAB was commissioned to precisely determine the material movements and report them back to SAP online. The aim was to provide the production manager with the current status of what was actually being mixed and what was in stock at any given time. The recipes were to be precisely checked and documented in real time. To achieve this, HEISAB developed several mobile Fiori apps that run on a mobile handheld scanner. The employees use these scanners to book the goods movements of the materials directly in the SAP system. By scanning a few barcodes, the employee can book the exact quantity of material relatively easily. There is no need to call up masks for manual data entry or even go to the office. Everything is done with the mobile devices. With the Fiori app, the worker can now manage and book all scanning processes. The app accesses SAP and the system retrieves the relevant information via the PCo. This means that traditional production orders and tally lists have been banished from production for good.
