Mobile data acquisition in an industrial environment
Mobile, internet-supported data acquisition and corresponding communication tools have become indispensable in the production of many industrial companies. HEITEC therefore developed a system solution for one of its customers that enabled complex measurement data acquisition as part of the internal production of liquid filter systems. High standards applied to both the electronics and the mechanics. The systems had to function reliably even in the event of high temperature fluctuations and strong shocks and vibrations. Furthermore, insensitivity to splash water, dust and lubricants was required. Taking into account the technical specifications, the systems also had to be as easy to maintain as possible.Brief technical description
- Customised system solution
- HEITEC standard housing colour-matched to the customer's corporate design (RAL5005)
- Internal power management with 24 V for the measurement technology components
- L x W x H: 310 mm x 42 HP x 4 U
- Power supply with 230 V mains voltage
- Highly effective EMC protection
- Sturdy, compact full metal housing with integrated mounting plate (side panels and cross profiles made of extruded aluminium profile and corner panels made of robust die-cast zinc)
Realisation
The complex overall system was integrated into a HeiPac Vario module with a height of 4 U, a width of 42 HP and a depth of 310 mm, which can be found in the HEITEC standard portfolio. The HeiPac Vario module is cost-effective and is characterised by its compact, stable all-metal housing, which seemed particularly suitable for the application at hand. According to customer specifications, the front and side panels were designed in the corporate design and the colour of the side panels was adapted - no further adjustments to this standard product were necessary. The front panel contains the connections for the four different measuring modules, which are supplied internally with 24 V voltage. At the rear, there is a switchable combination module for the mains input and a Schuko socket including cover for the power supply of a laptop. There is also a USB socket and a fastening device for the external power supply unit of a laptop. An earthing terminal on the rear also enables the system to be completely earthed.
In order to protect the complex wired electronics from external, damaging influences, fans were not used. Nevertheless, to ensure targeted heat regulation with high electromagnetic compatibility, the components were arranged on an all-aluminium mounting plate at a sufficient distance from each other to ensure passive heat dissipation of the system. As far as possible, standardised hardware and software solutions were used in order to achieve the most cost-effective overall system possible.
