Increased productivity through real-time communication with SAP
The Netzsch Group is a globally active family-owned mechanical engineering and equipment manufacturing company. The company built a new production facility in Selb for the manufacture and assembly of devices for thermal analysis, thereby expanding its capacity by 60 per cent. As the devices are increasingly geared towards customised requirements, Netzsch has streamlined its processes and geared them more efficiently towards individual production up to batch size 1, quality and efficiency. To achieve this, all processes had to be networked with each other.Realisation
HEITEC's IT subsidiary HEISAB installed an SAP warehouse management system to optimise the flow of all logistics processes in production. This flexibly and automatically controls all goods movements and manages the stocks in the warehouse complex. This gives Netzsch an even better overview of the total quantity of material in the warehouse and enables it to always determine exactly where certain material is located.
Previously, almost all the parts and components needed to assemble the measuring devices were compiled manually in the picking warehouse for a production order using a picking list created and printed out by SAP. By networking with SAP, production is now optimised and the parts are made available, packed or unpacked in the order in which they are needed by the fitters and electronics technicians. The material is now delivered to the employee precisely sorted on the picking trolley and the worker can process several orders in parallel. In addition, feedback on stock levels in the warehouse and production is available in real time. If the sequence of the production orders changes, the specified list sequence no longer has to be processed; instead, the sequence of the orders is changed in real time.
