Digital solutions for a sustainable energy future
We supported our customer Kaiser Lacke GmbH in making its energy technology future-proof and sustainable. A detailed overview of energy consumption was created at the main site in Nuremberg/Fürth by comprehensively digitising the energy meters. A weather forecast model calculates photovoltaic power generation in advance and enables optimised production planning. This data forms the basis for well-founded decisions to optimise the energy system, meaning that Kaiser Lacke is well equipped for future challenges in the energy sector.
Realisation
Firstly, the total electricity consumption, heating requirements and gas consumption were recorded digitally. At the same time, the generation output of the existing photovoltaic system was measured and documented. A browser-based visualisation clearly displays the collected data and enables a transparent analysis of the energy flows.
Based on this data, the entire energy system was set up as a dynamic simulation model. A time-resolved annual simulation was used to identify load peaks, derive optimisation potential and recognise synergies between generation and consumption. The model of the existing system was expanded to include additional photovoltaic systems, battery storage was integrated and the heat supply was adapted. The weather forecast model links the production planning with the expected solar power generation and thus increases the utilisation of renewable energy.
Customer benefits
The detailed recording and analysis of energy consumption creates transparency and enables well-founded decisions to be made. The integration of PV forecasts offers potential for optimised use of solar energy and flexible adjustment of production. Simulations of various energy concepts, including battery storage, show ways to increase energy self-sufficiency. These foundations for a sustainable and cost-efficient energy supply will strengthen the long-term competitiveness of Kaiser Lacke GmbH.
