Realisation
The test system is used as an aid for releasing the series chips for mass production during the development of the ASICs. Until now, these ASIC chips have been tested manually, which is very time-consuming. In addition to carrying out automated test sequences, the test system also includes the option of supporting manual tests.
This is reflected, among other things, in the handling of the chips and the execution of tests. All hardware components required to test an ASIC were integrated into a mobile 19-inch cabinet. In order to fulfil the complex requirements of the test specification, the test system has a large number of high-quality measurement and control devices: a PXI and LXI system network, an industrial PC and several peripheral modules enable a modular and compact design.
The pluggable PXI modules include digital multimeters, precision voltage sources, function generators, oscilloscope cards, GPIO cards (general purpose input/output) and a digital test pattern card, which mainly implements communication with the device under test and can be dynamically parameterised during a wide range of test scenarios.
