A good combination of standard housing components and customer provision
HEITEC has realised a cost-effective housing for one of the world's leading technology providers in the field of high-performance industrial image processing, which consists largely of standard components and has been fully adapted to the customer's requirements with just a few modifications.Brief technical description
- HeiPac Vario EMC enclosure
- D x W x H: 465 mm x 84HP x 9U
- Integration of customised components
- Active ventilation from the base to the lid
Realisation
In many areas of industrial production, visual inspection during or between individual production steps is the only way to check the quality and thus the previous production step. Among other things, the customer has specialised in the development and manufacture of optical inspection systems. The systems can be found, for example, in printing technology to ensure the required quality, but also in the inspection of security features and multispectral special prints. The faster and higher the quality of image capture and processing, the shorter the cycle times at which the end customer can produce. In order to fulfil this requirement, the development of ever more powerful camera and inspection systems is progressing steadily. Naturally, this is also linked to the need for ever more powerful electronics, which are responsible for processing and analysing the data in real time. Only through a high degree of optimisation and a sophisticated hardware-software co-design can the customer achieve the throughput rates and measuring accuracies required for inline quality inspection.
With the HeiPac Vario family, the customer has opted for a family of subracks that has been tried and tested over many years and is available on a long-term basis. In order to sensibly combine the existing electronic components in a subrack, a 9U housing with subdivision into 7U and 2U was chosen. The enclosure is equipped with hinged 7U front and rear panels for maintenance-friendly access. The high variability of the HeiPac Vario enclosure family made it easy to integrate the customer's own fan unit. The system is ventilated from bottom to top through the perforated top and bottom panels. The entire enclosure is EMC-tight, which supports subsequent approval tests and significantly minimises the risk of excessive interference emissions as well as the system's sensitivity to interference pulses. The enclosure has been the solid starting platform for the customer's test system for years and has been adapted to new conditions several times as a result of ongoing development.
