Eckental, 16 May - The trend towards miniaturisation and higher packing densities should, as expected, lead to smaller and lighter products. However, the trend towards exponentially higher performance - and therefore more powerful processors and chipsets - is having the opposite effect: Electronic devices are not only becoming smaller, faster and more powerful, but often also larger and heavier again. Modern graphics cards are therefore not only larger than their predecessors, but also require more powerful cooling systems to cope with the higher heat development. 19-inch technology and the associated rackmount PCs are no exception here. The increasing weight of the assemblies requires robust and stable mechanics that can reliably absorb and carry the load.
HEITEC therefore now offers a modular IPC enclosure line in 19-inch format, which guarantees the necessary protection for the valuable electronics and has been designed for maximum stability and load-bearing capacity as well as easy handling. It consists of three different enclosure types with different features. The heavy-duty 4U IPCs in modern black are prepared for cabinet installation and the needs-based accommodation of expansion cards in demanding industrial applications.
Plug & play - simple, modular design
All three available enclosure types - IPC 402, IPC 404 and IPC 4F4 - have one thing in common: adaptability to the respective requirements, easy handling and robustness. The construction of the ATX enclosures made of 2 mm sheet steel guarantees high stability and load-bearing capacity. The modern design with the black paint finish also emphasises the robustness and resilience of the systems visually. Thanks to the prepared threads and spacer bolts in the base plate, ATX motherboards of various standard sizes can be mounted effortlessly. The existing drive holders can be used for drives in the 2.5 or 3.5 inch form factor. The installation of graphics cards and boards is also simple and yet stable thanks to the hinged and removable mounting of the sheet steel card holders.
IPC 402 & 404 - safe, ergonomic and easy to maintain
The cover of both housings can be removed using knurled screws and allows user- and maintenance-friendly access to the inside of the housing. The hinged and lockable front door for securing the operating elements offers sufficient protection against unauthorised access, but also facilitates access to connections and drives on the front of the enclosure once the flap has been opened. The enclosure can also be extended and retracted for quick maintenance using optional telescopic rails from the accessories. The front panel has a built-in but easily replaceable filter mat, HDD/power LEDs, on/off switch, 5 1/4 and 3.5 inch slots for drives and additional I/O connection options. Important and advantageous, especially for long runtimes: The front fans with plug-in connection in the IPC 402 version or in the fan cage in the IPC 404 version can be replaced effortlessly during operation, as can the filter mat. There are cut-outs in the rear panel for the installation of powerful power supply units as well as additional ventilation options and expansion cards.
IPC 4F4 - ideal for cabinet installation closed at the rear
The front-facing design of this enclosure type is intended for installation in rear-locked cabinet systems or otherwise difficult-to-access system rear panels and provides convenient access to all connections, drives and the power supply, e.g. for applications where fast connectivity is required. As with the other two enclosures, the front panel is equipped as standard with an on/off switch, HDD/POWER LEDs and 5 1/4 and 3.5 inch slots for drives. Expansion slots and installation options for ATX power supplies are also located on the front, as are the integrated front USB and other I/O connection options. To ensure reliable operation even under demanding conditions, the rear panel is equipped with two integrated ball-bearing fans and additional ventilation slots.
An extensive range of accessories makes all IPCs adaptable all-rounders for a wide variety of applications, regardless of whether high CPU and graphics power, continuous operation or fail-safe operation are required. On request, the enclosures can be supplied fully assembled, equipped and wired. Individual colour designs and labelling are also possible. Whether alternative formats are required or a fully assembled industrial PC system including mainboard, hard drives and input/output cards - HEITEC stands for customised, high-quality industrial PC solutions from in-house development and production. This includes assembled PCBs, screw connections and wiring as well as a reliable, crisis-proof partner and supplier network of system components.
