RCP 4: modular concept for maximum production flexibility

HEITEC is setting new standards in the automation of machining centres - RCP 4 is a modular robot cell that can be flexibly configured.

The highly standardised robot cell was developed in close cooperation with Gebr. Heller Maschinenfabrik and enables the automatic loading and unloading of up to two processing machines simultaneously, both with components and pallets. The modular design of the RCP 4 makes it possible to start with a basic system and expand it as required. The basic module consists of a cell with a KUKA robot and a machine connection. Customers can expand the automation cell as required by adding various modules such as a rotating set-up station, cleaning systems, grippers, pallet racks and drawer storage, thus creating a version that is optimally suited to their own requirements.

Maximum flexibility for any batch size

Thanks to the combination of workpiece and pallet handling, the robot cell is suitable for both single-batch and multi-batch production. This batch size-independent automation makes the RCP 4 a future-proof investment for companies of all sizes.

Simple operation thanks to 3D control concept

Another highlight of the cell is the intuitive visualisation software with numerous functions. The 3D teaching function is particularly noteworthy: Customers can teach in new workpieces directly via the user-friendly HMI without having to resort to a complex robot panel. The unique software solution makes it possible to implement new components and gripper strategies easily and efficiently - a feature that is unique on the market in this form.

    Production start from zero to one hundred - In August 2020, four of the fully automatic HeiDetect Wheel Robot wheel testing systems from HEITEC PTS were to be put into operation at the BORBET Group's plant in Thuringia.
