In the course of the energy transition, the requirements for transporting energy from generation to the consumer are growing, for example for connecting offshore wind farms or bridging long distances using international power lines.
High-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission technology is used here, which provides higher capacities over long distances and is significantly more efficient than conventional methods. HEITEC has developed a system platform for Siemens Energy to control the power modules for HVDC technology and has been manufacturing these at its own site for several years.
With further follow-up orders in 2023 and 2024, HEITEC has received the largest orders in its company history and is thus making a contribution to the energy transition. HEITEC has already invested heavily in its production at the Eckental site and will continue to expand it in order to remain a reliable partner.
