The HEITEC StarterKit is the retrofit solution for uncomplicated and fast energy data acquisition in production using the ISO 50001-certified HEITEC Energy App. Ready for use within a day, the complete package of hardware and software enables the recording, visualisation and analysis of energy and machine data - without any programming knowledge. This makes energy flows transparent, reveals potential savings and creates the basis for sustainable production optimisation.
Quick entry into the digital world with the HEITEC StarterKit
Existing machines and systems can be easily retrofitted - regardless of whether they are individual systems or complex installations. The StarterKit includes an IOT gateway for secure data transmission and various sensors for recording energy and gas consumption, for example. Consumption data and system statuses such as operating mode, faults or system efficiency are recorded transparently and transmitted securely to the cloud without affecting ongoing processes. Retrofitting is carried out directly on the existing technology, without interfering with the control system or interrupting production - this saves time and money and pays for itself immediately.

Our experts from the Kiel site have implemented a comprehensive project to modernise the electrotechnical equipment for the Mittelschwansen water supply association. The aim was to increase efficiency, guarantee security of supply and reduce operating costs
Retrofit of a metal spraying system for capacitors
In a challenging retrofit project, we modernised the control technology of a metal spraying system for capacitor production at our customer KBR EnergyManagement GmbH. In addition to increasing the test voltage to 2 kV, safety functions were expanded, hardware components replaced and the operating concept optimised - all with minimal intervention in the existing system structure. The result: more process reliability, greater user-friendliness and a future-proof solution for production.
UW BIASCA: Engineering and production from a single source
Our long-standing business partner Siemens Schweiz AG has been awarded the contract to replace the existing 220kV AIS (air-insulated switchgear) in the BIASCA substation (canton: Ticino) with a new turnkey 220kV GIS (gas-insulated switchgear). The new system comprises a double busbar with a total of 11 bays, a reserve bay and a cross-coupler.
We supported our customer Kaiser Lacke GmbH in making its energy technology future-proof and sustainable. A detailed overview of energy consumption was created at the main site in Nuremberg/Fürth by comprehensively digitising the energy meters. A weather forecast model calculates photovoltaic power generation in advance and enables optimised production planning. This data forms the basis for well-founded decisions to optimise the energy system, meaning that Kaiser Lacke is well equipped for future challenges in the energy sector.
We have been advising our client NürnbergMesse GmbH on a sustainable energy supply since 2021. An innovative hybrid power plant is to be realised by 2028 as part of the REMBup research project. This will combine various CO2-neutral technologies to ensure a sustainable and efficient energy supply. The digital twin of the plant will optimise the operation of the entire system in future and enable data-based control. State-of-the-art energy forecasts using machine learning and optimisation methods will be used. The project demonstrates not only the technical, but also the economic feasibility of a climate-friendly energy supply.
We accompany and support Messe München GmbH in its goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2030. We are currently using our expertise and our innovative simulation methods as part of a feasibility study to identify and evaluate options for a sustainable energy supply.
Energy optimisation of an energy-plus housing estate at system level
The aim of the project is to holistically optimise the use of energy in an energy-plus housing estate. By intelligently coordinating the electricity, heating and cooling sectors and taking into account generation, consumption and storage technologies, the aim is to maximise energy efficiency. A particular focus is on optimising the use of grid capacities in the residential area and taking regulatory framework conditions into account. A cross-sectoral real-time simulation model of the residential area forms the basis for the analyses. The coupling with real measurement data enables the development of a digital twin that allows extensive simulations and the optimisation of algorithms even before real operation.
Vestas Wind Systems A/S (Copenhagen Stock Exchange: VWS.CO), based in Aarhus, Denmark, is the largest European manufacturer of wind turbines and, together with Goldwind and GE Wind, one of the largest in the world. The headquarters of Vestas Deutschland GmbH (Vestas Central Europe) is located in Husum. The company has been active here since 1986 and employs around 2000 people. Heitec carries out the finalisation work for wind turbines with medium-voltage switchgear from certain manufacturers and the integration into a wind farm consisting of several wind turbines.
HanseWerk AG is an energy service provider with a focus on grid operation and decentralised energy generation based in Quickborn. The company operates around 51,000 kilometres of electricity and 27,000 kilometres of gas lines in many municipalities in northern Germany itself or via its subsidiaries. It supplies around 1.3 million customers in the federal states of Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg and Lower Saxony with electricity, natural gas, water and heat.
Production and testing of components for electric locomotive equipment
Vossloh Locomotives is one of Europe's leading manufacturers of diesel locomotives for shunting and mainline operations. The standard portfolio includes three diesel-hydraulic (G 6, G 12 / G 18) and two diesel-electric models (DE locomotive variants, such as DE 12 / DE 18); the current range of locomotives is based on the modular principle. In addition, dual-mode locomotives (electric diesel locomotives) are being developed and a wide range of services offered.
Production and testing of automation cabinets for the air conditioning of an offshore wind platform
The BorWin3 project - an offshore wind farm - in the North Sea with a transmission capacity of up to 900 megawatts will be able to supply almost one million German households with wind energy from 2019. A consortium between Siemens AG and Petrofac International from the United Arab Emirates is carrying out the complete construction of a so-called HVDC (high voltage direct current transmission technology) platform. The energy from offshore wind turbines will then be transmitted to the mainland with virtually no losses. There, the energy is fed into the supply grid in an alternating current direction.
Raytheon Anschütz - Renewal of the medium-voltage switchgear
Raytheon Anschütz GmbH is a subsidiary of the Raytheon Company (USA). The company was founded in 1905 as Anschütz & Co. after Hermann Anschütz-Kaempfe invented the gyrocompass. Today, Raytheon Anschütz develops, produces and tests gyrocompasses, daughter displays, autopilots, manual rudder control systems, radar equipment and electronic nautical charts, as well as complete integrated bridge systems at its site in Kiel. Heitec was awarded the contract for the expansion of the plant's power supply to the medium-voltage feed.
