Raytheon Anschütz - renovation of medium-voltage switchgear

Portfolio: Power technologies
Industries: Plant Engineering and Machine Tool Industry

CHALLENGE

Raytheon Anschütz GmbH is a subsidiary of the Raytheon Company (U.S.A.). The company was originally founded in 1905 as Anschütz & Co. following the invention of the gyro compass by Hermann Anschütz-Kaempfe. At the company’s site in Kiel, Germany, Raytheon Anschütz currently develops, produces, and tests gyro compasses, slave displays, autopilots, manual steering gear control systems, radar equipment, and electronic sea charts, as well as fully integrated bridge systems.

IMPLEMENTATION

To expand the plant’s power supply, HEITEC was commissioned to expand the medium-voltage feed-in. HEITEC engineered the complete medium-voltage system, safety concept, and selective distribution, and created a pressure relief concept for the plant in the event of failure.
Integration of the new power supply into relevant plants took place on weekends and during production times.
To distribute the power further, HEITEC also engineered the low-voltage system and manufactured it in accordance with EN 60234-2.

CUSTOMER BENEFIT

  • System integration accompanying production and on weekends; there was no interruption of production.
  • Complete engineering shortened the acceptance process on the part of the power company and authorities.
  • Commissioning and protection settings ensure high system availability.
